Jozi Stars, the South African Mzansi Super League T20 cricket team, is excited to partner with the Alexandra Museum to promote and celebrate Jozi’s diversity, history and heritage.
About the Alexandra Museum
The Centre was started as part of the Alexandra Renewal Project. A joint initiative of the three spheres of government, the private sector and community-based organisations. It was initially named after Mandela but the co-ordinators of the Alexandra Heritage Association said the centre was later rechristened “Alex”, as the township is affectionately known. That was after the association lobbied for the centre to reflect the history of Alexandra.
Alexandra Museum is a work of art expressed in the structure and content to reflect life in Alexandra and to be perceived intellectually to uplift the mind and soul of residents. The museum is valued and supported as a vital asset in the community, enjoying community partnerships and collaborations.
The Museum is innovative and generates excitement. Our aim is to showcase the rich heritage of Alexandra, in particular and Johannesburg in general.
