Kent Park Taverners
Named after the ground on which the current Wanderers Stadium was built (Kent Park) was founded by Ted Sceales, then the MD of SAB, in the early 1960’s. KPT has had several homes in the stadium since then and finally moved into the first floor of the Taverners Pavilion in 1998. The concept is based on the Lords Taverners principle of donating funds to deserving sporting charities and for KPT this is the development of cricket in South Africa and in excess of R3 million has been donated in the past 20 years. Currently KPT sponsor the St. David’s Marist Brothers Schools T20 Festival and the Montrose Primary Schools Cricket Festival. The two major fund raisers are the annual Golf Day in March every year and the Breakfast on the first day of the Wanderers Test.
